I. Core Definition and Substrate Characteristics of PET Protective Films: The Foundation of Protective Performance

PET protective film, full name polyethylene terephthalate protective film, takes PET polyester chips as the core substrate. Through a series of precision processing technologies, it is endowed with functions such as scratch resistance, stain resistance, anti-static and weather resistance, and is ultimately applied to the surface protection of various products. Its core advantages stem from the molecular structure characteristics of the PET substrate itself, combined with subsequent technical modification and process optimization, forming the dual characteristics of "thin, light and invisible" and "strong protection".

The core technical characteristics and key parameters of the PET substrate are as follows, which are also the basis for determining the quality of the protective film. At the same time, the core parameters of Suzhou Tailun's substrate are attached for foreign trade customers to compare intuitively:

Excellent Optical Performance: The light transmittance of pure PET film can reach more than 90%, and can be increased to 92%-95% after optimization by biaxial stretching process, with haze lower than 1.5%, close to the light transmittance effect of glass. When covered on the surface of screens, paint surfaces, etc., it hardly affects the original appearance and color presentation, realizing the core demand of "invisible protection". Suzhou Tailun Substrate Parameters: Light transmittance 93%-95%, haze ≤1.0%, no rainbow pattern, no crystal points, no precipitation and no orange peel on the surface. The optical performance is far higher than the industry average, suitable for high-end optical scene needs.

Outstanding Physical Strength: The main chain of PET molecules contains rigid benzene rings and flexible ethylene glycol segments, which have both high strength and flexibility. At room temperature, the tensile strength can reach 150-200 MPa, and the elongation at break is maintained at 50%-150%, which is not easy to tear or deform, and can effectively resist external impact and friction. Suzhou Tailun Substrate Parameters: Tensile strength ≥130MPa (in line with GB-13950-1992 test standard), elongation at break ≥70%, film thickness error controlled within ±1μm, with strong dimensional stability and not easy to deform.

Strong Weather Resistance and Stability: The PET substrate itself has good high and low temperature resistance, and can be used for a long time in the environment of -40℃ to 120℃, and can withstand high temperature of 150℃ in the short term, not easy to age or yellow. At the same time, it has low water vapor and oxygen transmission rate, which can effectively block the erosion of moisture and oxygen on the protected surface, and extend the service life of the protected products. Suzhou Tailun Substrate Parameters: Long-term service temperature -40℃~120℃, short-term tolerance temperature up to 150℃. No yellowing or cracking in aging test (85℃/85%RH, 1000h), water vapor transmission rate ≤5g/(m²·24h), and stability far exceeds the strict standards for foreign trade export.

Environmental Protection and Recyclability: PET is a recyclable thermoplastic polymer, which complies with EU RoHS, REACH and China's green product evaluation standards. In recent years, the R&D and mass production of recycled PET (rPET) protective films have further met the global "dual carbon" strategy and environmental protection needs, reducing carbon emissions and resource waste. Suzhou Tailun Substrate Parameters: All substrates have passed EU RoHS and REACH certifications, and complete test reports can be provided. The recovery rate of recycled PET (rPET) substrates is ≥85%, and the environmental indicators meet the requirements of mainstream global markets, helping customers clear customs smoothly.

Suzhou Tailun strictly controls the quality in substrate selection, selects high-purity PET polyester chips, removes impurities and moldy particles through precise raw material screening and pre-treatment, and adds functional additives such as anti-static, anti-ultraviolet and antibacterial according to customer needs, laying a solid foundation for subsequent process upgrading and product performance optimization. Relying on strong production strength, it realizes large-scale and standardized production of substrates to ensure stable supply.
